A Heritage Landmark in the heart of Kew: Help restore and conserve our church site and its buildings!
Holy Trinity Anglican Church has been a prominent building on High Street, serving the Kew community since 1863. For over 160 years it has been a sacred place of traditional Anglican worship, as well as a centre for community gathering, ceremony, music, and education.
Throughout the generations many have worshipped here, hearing the Word of God preached and receiving the sacraments, with an outstanding choir enhancing services each Sunday. The Church is recognised by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) as a site of significant cultural, historical, and architectural importance. It houses notable items including the Church Organ, the Reredos, the Prince Albert Memorial Window, Trinity Window and the main Ascension Window, and is of State and National significance. Holy Trinity is an active, caring congregation, home to the Sovereign Order of St John, the Early Learning Centre, the Kew Philharmonic Choir, the Star Chorale and other groups. The parish also includes the Vicarage, Old Parish Hall, and Jubilee Hall. Despite ongoing maintenance, these historic buildings face deterioration from age and Melbourne’s weather, with major works required to the tower, stonework, and slate roof. Holy Trinity seeks to raise over $1,100,000 for long-term preservation and invites community support through the National Trust, with further details via the Parish Office.
