A Heritage Landmark in the heart of Kew: Help restore and conserve our church site and its buildings!
Holy Trinity Kew has stood on the crest of the High Street hill in the heart of the Kew community since 1863. For over 160 years it has been a sacred place of traditional Anglican worship, community gathering, ceremony, music, education, and heritage. In 2008, The National Trust of Australia declared that the church is recognised as a site of significant cultural, historical, and architectural importance which led to the opening of our current and ongoing appeal to restore, maintain and conserve our buildings and architecture.
Historic buildings of this age require ongoing specialist care. Despite the parish’s commitment to routine maintenance, our Church, Vicarage, Old Parish Hall, and Jubilee Hall now face major structural, aesthetic, and environmental challenges that exceed our current financial capacity. Decades of exposure to Melbourne’s changing weather, coupled with the natural ageing of materials, have caused considerable deterioration in several key parts of the church. The Restoration & Conservation Appeal seeks to secure the long-term preservation of Holy Trinity Kew both to safeguard its heritage value and to ensure that future generations can continue to worship and gather in this sacred place. Below, you will find an ongoing history and a project milestone timeline for historical and current projects across the parish. In addition, you are able to donate to our National Trust Appeal filling out the form below and returning it to the Parish Office.
